The wizarding world invades Little Whinging as Dementors attack Harry and his cousin, Dudley. Made to stand trial for his underage use of magic to defend himself and Dudley, Harry returns to Hogwarts for his fifth year of school as Voldemort begins to reassert his power in the wizarding world. His, and Dumbledore's claim that Voldemort is back have been scoffed at as the Ministry of Magic has carried out a campaign of ridicule to convince the people that he is lying. To further their ends, the Ministry gradually assume more control over Hogwarts as things become darker while Voldemort grows stronger.
