The weekend of December 7 we will be showing a Christmas comedy, FredClaus.
Did you know Santa Claus (played by Paul Giamatti) had an older brother? In this movie he does. His name is Fred (played by Vince Vaughn). Fred has been jealous of his brother Nicholas most of his life. After all, Nicholas becomes a saint. He's loved by millions the world over. Everyone knows him. Fred, though, Fred is just an average guy. But when Fred needs financial help, who does he turn to but his brother, Saint Nick? Santa always has work.
Co-stars include Kevin Spacey as an accountant who wants to shut Santa down and Kathy Bates as Santa and Fred's mother.
This may not be the best movie of the year, but it looks like fun. Come in and have a good time.
The weekend of November 30 we will be presenting Dan in Real Life.
Dan, played by Steve Carell, writes an advice column for the local paper, has published a book, and is a widower raising three daughters.
For the first time since his wife died four years ago, Dan has met a woman he likes, Marie, played by Juliette Binoche, while he's at a bookstore as he is visiting his parent's house for their annual family reunion. Marie, he finds out, is his brother's new girlfriend. Not a comedy, nor a drama, the movie looks to be funny and heartfelt at the same time.
