Slumdog Millionaire

The weekend of March 20, 2009 - March 22, 2009 we are happy to be bringing you the Academy Award winningSlumdog Millionaire.

Jamal Malik is an 18 year old orphan from the slums of Mumbai. He is just one question away from winning 20,000,000 rupees on India's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" until the police arrest him on suspicion of cheating. After all, what street kid, or slumdog as they are called, could know so much?

Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life, including the story of Latika, the girl he fell in love with, and lost. Each chapter of his life holds the key to the answer to one of the show's questions, revealing where he learned the answers to the show's quizzes. One question, though, remains. Why is Jamal on the show to begin with?

The police release Jamal and he returns to the show for the final question. The police Inspector and the millions of people watching will find out the reason Jamal wants to be the Slumdog Millionaire..

Slumdog Millionaire is the story of how each of us come to learn what we know about life, and about love.
