September 21, 2009 1:10pm - For most of us, weekends are for good times - going out to dinner, dancing, the ball game, festivals, the fair. But sometimes schedules stop us from doing all we want to do.
For others of us weekends are for work. No matter how much we'd like to do something, we're not able to due to the requirements of our work or our life.
Because of this, we are pleased to announce that beginning this week we have added weekday showings to our schedule. Starting Wednesday, September 23 we will be having a 7:00PM show on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
This first week we will be holding over the family fantasy,
Shorts. Showtimes, as I said, will be at 7:00PM on Wednesday and 7:00PM on Thursday, so if you weren't able to make it this weekend, come on down. We'll be looking forward to seeing you.
June 20, 2009 10:41pm - Due to an equipment failure, we regret to announce the Ambridge Family Theatre will be closed Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21. A board fried in the lamphouse during the last show Friday evening.
We will be making every effort to have the problem repaired during the coming week, and hope to be showing Night at the Museum the weekend of June 26 - June 28, 2009.
Thank you for your support and patience.
March 29, 2009 8:49pm - Mark your calendars for 7:00PM on Saturday, April 25. That date marks the First Annual Harmony Film Festival. The festival is a celebration of independent films.
The event will begin with hors d'oeuvres and a wine tasting accompanied by a cash bar. The main attraction of the evening will include screenings of a selection of festival entries, including the three winners:

Attend, have a good time, and see the work of some of today's best independent filmmakers on screen.
January 7, 2009 3:04pm - Hi everyone. We hope you had a good holiday and wish everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2009.
As of January, 2009 we will be changing our advertising format somewhat. As you all know, the Ambridge Family Theatre website has been up and in use for the past year. Over that time, we've had more and more people visiting the site, subscribing to the feed, and signing up for email updates.
During the same period, it appears that fewer and fewer people have used the newspaper to find out what the theatre will be presenting that week. As a result, we have decided to stop advertising in the newspaper effective January, 2009. With this change there will be three main ways to find out what we are showing each week.
- The marquee of the theatre. Most of our patrons live in the Ambridge area and go by the theatre. Sunday nights we try to get the marquee changed to show what we will be showing the next weekend. We also try to keep a notice in the box office window showing the films we have booked.
- The telephone. Our phone number is 724-251-9760. Again, we try to update the telephone message on Sunday evenings to tell what we will be showing the following week. Sometimes it may be a day or two later, but not usually. Occasionally something will happen to the phone and the message disappears. In those cases, please call our home at 724-774-4568 to let us know there is a problem and to find out the next weekend's movie.
- This website and the email updates you can sign up for. I try to update it on Wednesday, with email notices going out Wednesday or Thursday to tell what we are showing that weekend. On the website's Coming Soon page we keep a list of the movies that we have booked for the future.
If you know anyone who has used the newspaper to find out what we are showing, please let them know that, even though our ad will not appear there, we are still open and showing films for your pleasure. Thank you for your patronage and dedication to the Ambridge Family Theatre.
June 13, 2008 3:54pm - The weekend of June 13, 2008 - June 15, 2008 we will be closed due to the marriage of our daughter, Alicia Cockrum, to Ronald Gianfrancesco on June 15. We'll be back next weekend with another great show, Prince Caspian, the next episode of the Chronicles of Narnia!
Enjoy your weekend. We'll see you next week.
