The House Bunny

Shelley, played by Anna Faris, is a Playboy bunny, at least until she gets too old and gets kicked out of the mansion. With nowhere to go and no skills, she's lost until she fall in with the girls from the Zeta Alpha Zeta sorority. The girls of the sorority, seven girls with no social skills to speak of, can use Shelley's help to learn to be themselves instead of what others want them to be, while Shelley learns to survive in the world.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

September 24, 2008 3:47pm - Star Wars: The Clone Wars Poster The weekend of September 26, 2008 - September 28, 2008 we will present the first animated feature release in the Star Wars universe Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It is sometime after Star Wars: Episode II. The clone army is in full mobilization against the droid armies of the Separatists and the Jedi, led by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda, try to bring peace to the galaxy and return power to the Republic as they battle the forces of the dark side. Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan learner Ahsoka Tano find themselves on a mission that brings them face-to-face with crime lord Jabba the Hutt, while Count Dooku and his agents, including the nefarious Asajj Ventress, will stop at nothing to ensure that Anakin and Ahsoka fail at their quest.

The Longshots

September 17, 2008 10:24am - The Longshots Poster The weekend of September 19, 2008 - September 21, 2008 we are happy to be presenting the true story of Jasmine Plummer, the first girl to play in the Pop Warner football tournament - The Longshots. Curtis Plummer ( played by Ice Cube ), hasn't built much of a life. He was a high school football star, who let his talent go to waste. When his sister-in-law, whom Curtis' brother abandoned along with his lttle girl, Jasmine, asks Curtis to spend some time with his niece, Curtis reluctantly agrees. Not knowing how to do much else, Curtis decides to play football with Jasmine. To his amazement, she's good, with a throwing arm that can put the ball where she want it, when she wants it to get there. He takes her to try out for a local Pop Warner football team, the Minden Browns. The team isn't very good and she easily shows she's one of the best players on it. Then, the team needs a new coach and the head coach asks Curtis to take on the role. He agrees. With his leadership, and Jasmine's skill, the Minden Browns go on to win its way to the Pop Warner Super Bowl.

Meet the Pittsburgh Force

Women's football is a sport that is growing in popularity. Pittsburgh has a team in the NWFA (National Women's Football Association), the Pittsburgh Force, with tryouts open to all women 18 years of age or older. We are happy to announce that members of the Pittsburgh Force will be present at this weekend's presentation of The Longshots. Team members will be available on Friday, September 19 starting at 6:00PM and Sunday, September 21 starting at 12:00 Noon. Even if you don't come to see the movie, visit the Ambridge Family Theatre to talk to members of the Pittsburgh Force and find out what women's football is about.

Journey to the Center of the Earth

September 11, 2008 8:14am - Journey to the Center of the Earth Poster The weekend of September 12, 2008 - September 14, 2008 we will be showing another movie starring Brendan Fraser, this one based on the classic Jules Verne novel, Journey to the Center of the Earth. Professor Trevor Anderson, played by Brendan Fraser, heads the Center of Volcanic Activity. Ten years ago his brother Max was placing the monitoring system around the world. He never returned, leaving behind a wife and son. Following a lead from his brother's copy of Journey to the Center of the Earth, Trevor and his nephew Sean fly to Iceland to check one of the monitors and see if they can get information about Max. While investigating with their guide, Hannah, they get trapped in an abandoned mine, the floor of which breaks beneath them and they fall for miles to the center of the earth, landing in another world beneath our own filled with creatures and plants that became extinct on the surface millions of years ago.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emporer

September 3, 2008 6:48pm - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Poster The weekend of September 5, 2008 - September 7, 2008 Brendan Frazer, along with Jet Li, is back in The Mummy - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. The Dragon Emperor conquered half the world in his lifetime, but he was cursed to an eternity in suspended animation. One day his tomb, where he sleeps with 10,000 warriors is found by the young archeologist Alex O'Connell, son of Rick and Evelyn O'Connell. And, of course, Alec awakens the emporer and has to seek the help of his parents, who have more experience with mummies than he has. His desire for domination and his power have strengthened over the millenia. Will the O'Connells be able to stop the Emperor Mummy as he rouses his undead legions?
