He trains all summer, only to be beaten by a girl, a new kid named Leslie. He's poor. She's rich. He's a boy. She's a girl. He's from the country. She's from the city. February 27, 2007 11:34am - We are happy to announce that this weekend March 2 - March 4, we will be allowed to present Dreamgirls. Dreamgirls is based on the 1981 Broadway play of the same name. It tells the story of the rise of a black female trio in the early 1960s from small beginnings to stardom. Dreamgirls was nominated for several Academy awards, and won two Oscars. Jennifer Hudson won for best actress in a supporting role, and the film won for best sound mixing. It stars Beyonce Knowles, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Danny Glover, Jennifer Hudson, and Anika Noni Rose. See the trailer.
